Stanza makes it dead simple to discover and subscribe to calendars. Part of the magic of Stanza has always been how easy it is to get started—just hit the Add to Calendar button and your calendar is forever updated.

We appreciate your patience as we’ve rebuilt the product from the ground up. With the new engine and an improved UI/UX, we can now iterate faster.
Since the relaunch earlier this year, we’ve focused on making Stanza great for our amazing creators. While our team maintains a limited library of sports & TV calendars, dedicated individuals and organizations spend countless hours updating the growing majority of calendars. For example, Tim Boxeo’s one-of-a-kind boxing calendar and Nicholas Carr’s Olympic events.

New Engine
The entire calendar subscription process was redesigned.
Goodbye oAuth and Inaccurate Updates: We no longer ask for access to your Google or Microsoft calendars. Our old system required background access, but as we pushed updates to more users, calendar providers like Google started throttling us. This led to duplicate events or missing events in subscribers’ calendar apps… and was becoming more expensive to maintain. Double whammy.
Hello calendar imports: Now every calendar on Stanza has a webcal link you can import into any calendar app. Once imported, your calendar app automatically pulls updates from our system.
👆 With the new subscription process, webcal links open up in your default calendar app.

With the engine swap, subscriptions from prior to the relaunch have now stopped working. Head to your Library to see all your subscriptions and resubscribe.
What’s New
Before diving into what we launched, let’s talk about the “why” behind what we’re building. The north stars for our product roadmap are as follows:
Grok: We want to make sure you clearly understand what Stanza does and its value. This newsletter falls under this initiative.
Trust: We want to grow our library while maintaining your trust in the quality of our calendars.
Personalize: With over 60,000 calendars on Stanza, we want to build a better, faster and simpler experience to find and discover calendars.
Here’s what we’ve already launched:
Groups
+ Members-only feature: Groups let you combine multiple calendars into one that you subscribe to, keeping your sidebar tidy. Any calendars you add or remove from the group will automatically update in your calendar app.

💡Pro Tip: When resubscribing, add calendars to a group to better organize them and personalize your experience within the calendar app.
Improved Data Integrations
For the calendars that we’re maintaining, we’ve upgraded or found new sources for the schedule.
TV & NCAA schedules: Fixes are in progress for both. Keep an eye out for updates as part of this series.
If there are other calendars on the website that need to be updated, click on the “Feedback” link on the top right of every calendar page to report issues with events.
Improved Search & Discovery
+ Unlike free users, members get unlimited searches & recommendations.
We’ve updated search to have it’s own standalone page. AI-powered discovery is also now live. Clicking on “Related Calendars” button on any event tile will show other calendars that you may want to subscribe to.
